Elephants are touted as having long memories and maybe the GOP should give that a thought. The success of an outsider this past election year, the rout of the Democratic Party, should be the beginning of their new memory of how to move forward. But increasingly, there are signs establishment Republicans won’t.
With President Trump just turning on the steam with his actions in the executive branch, Congress, in the firm grip of the GOP, instead appears to be cowering to the loudly- protesting and widely-reported opposition.
Maybe they should revive in their memory the anger of Americans who in the overwhelming majority of counties and states voted this direction. Their anger is not being expressed on the street, but it is still there.
