Tropical Storm Bertha continues to churn in the Gulf of America. The system currently has maximum sustained winds of 60 miles an hour.
There are Tropical Storm Warnings and Watches along the Gulf Coast from Florida into Louisiana. New Orleans is now under a Tropical Storm Warning.
But what will Houston see?
On Facebook, Harris County meteorologist Jeff Lindner wrote that "Track guidance remains in generally good agreement although there remain some small differences in the track outcome. Guidance has trended a bit more to the right with the track over SE TX Friday into Saturday although it is about as likely that Bertha degenerates into a trough as actually remains a coherent tropical cyclone."
Matt Lanza on Space City Weather noted that, "Realistic impacts would be slightly elevated tides and perhaps some breezy northeast winds (20-30 mph) in Galveston Thursday or Friday. Beyond that? It seems unlikely at this point that we’ll see anything more. And it may be generous to assume Bertha even survives the trip."
