The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season is officially underway, and CenterPoint says they will be ready. Senior VP Keith Stephens told our tv partner KPRC 2 about a new upgrade that will make it easier to report problems.
"One of the improvements we're working on for our Outage Tracker is the ability to take a picture and upload it, and to register it as something that needs to be looked at" he said.
CenterPoint also said they are prepared, despite some recent power outages. But not everyone agrees.
Mary Spiritosanto lives in Spring, right next to a property that was thought to be owned by CenterPoint, and it is not in good condition.
"It's just piling higher and higher with weeds and trash" Spiritosanto said, "I'm afraid to go back there."
So much so that she called the County, along with CenterPoint, to no avail.
"They haven't done a thing" Spiritosanto told KTRH, "And my desire is that they would come in and clean up, and make it safe again."
We reached out to CenterPoint, and they informed us that they do not actually own the land in Spring. It turns out, the land is owned by Kinder-Morgan
