Kamala Harris Supported Bail Fund Helped Free Felon Now Charged With Murder

A violent repeat felon was freed by a bail fund group that Kamala Harris helped raise money for, while free on bond that felon allegedly murdered a man.

Back in 2020, Harris tweeted out a link for the Minnesota Freedom Fund.

That group recently secured the release of Shawn Tillman who was being held after his arrest for indecent exposure where he allegedly masturbated in front of a woman on the Green Line light rail in St. Paul.

Tillman has three prior felony convictions which include 4th degree assault, illegal possession of a firearm and indecent exposure in the presence of a minor.

Here’s Harris’ tweet:

The Minnesota Freedom Fund paid Tillman’s bail and three weeks later he’s arrested for murder.

KSTP-TV reports:

Rep. Mary Franson, R-Alexandria, filed a bill in 2021 which would have prevented nonprofits, like the Minnesota Freedom Fund, from posting cash bail for people who’ve been arrested. Now, Franson told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS, she intends to reintroduce that bill in next year’s legislative session.
“When you have a nonprofit that is not in any way tied to the individual looking to be bailed out, that’s where the problem is, because they have no skin in the game,” said Franson.

Tillman is now in custody with bail set at $2 million.

The Washington FreeBeacon points out that Tillman is not the first person to commit murder after being bailed out by the Freedom Fund:

“The group helped free a man charged with domestic abuse last year. Weeks later, he murdered another man in a road rage incident. The group also shelled out $75,000 in cash to release Jaleel Stallings, who was charged in May 2020 with attempted murder after shooting at police during the Floyd riots.”
