B&B Mart Employee Amber Mahley tells KATU-TV in Portland that a man stepped up to the cashier counter and instead of pulling out his wallet, "he pulled a gun out of his pocket.
The robber told Amber to "put all the money in a bag."
She says “I was scared. I was just trying to protect myself. I didn’t even think to open the register to give him the money. I just wanted him out of my space".
She sprayed him, causing him to flee with nothing.
Vancouver po-po says the suspect has hit at least seven businesses in the area.
They believe he’s also tied to a number of robberies throughout the Portland area.
