The Oklahoma City Police Department just released body-cam footage of this incident that took place on March 2nd.
The video shows the moment Crasteven Wilson, 23, shot Officer Bryce Sheehan in the leg as he tried to search the suspect for weapons in southeast Oklahoma City.
As officer Sheehan approached Wilson to pat him down, Wilson turned around and shot Sheehan in the leg before running off in an attempt to steal the officers patrol car.
Officer Sheehan returns fire.
“An official with the Oklahoma City Police Department told KFOR the bullets were so close to the officer’s face that they left gunpowder burns…
Sheehan could be seen on video applying his tourniquet after the shooting before transport to the hospital.
The newly released bodycam footage showed Wilson attempting to flee the scene in the officer’s patrol vehicle. However, when he couldn’t drive away in the car, he tried to flee the scene on foot.
Wilson was found a short time later lying in the backyard of a home. Officers rendered aid, but he later succumbed to his injuries.
Sheehan has been an Oklahoma City police officer for three years. The night of the shooting, he was treated for his injuries at the hospital. Sheehan has been placed on routine administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.”
Officer Sheehan was forced to perform first aid on himself to save his own life. He applied a tourniquet to his wounded leg.
Dr. Bill Worden tells KOCO-TV:
"No different than when he pulled his firearm out to return fire, the training he has then kicked in to show him he needed to put a tourniquet on because even what may look like a very small and unsubstantial wound, someone can bleed to death in two to three minutes.”
So what NFL player will put Crasteven Wilson’s name on their jersey and celebrate him as some sort of victim of police brutality.
