How ‘bout them apples.
Fantastic video showing the end of a police chase in Northwest Harris thanks to a good Samaritan who happened to be a former prep track athlete.
The chase happened last Tuesday when a man was spotted on Beltway 8 in a stolen truck.
Officers tried to pull the man over, but he refused to stop.
“…the pursuit began as the suspect drove up and down the Beltway near Fairbanks and in and out of neighborhoods before finally stopping behind an industrial complex.
ABC13 SkyEye caught the suspect on camera as he got out of the car and began to run away, but moments later Devin says his instincts kicked in.”
Devin is the good Samaritan who chased the suspect down and tackled him for the po-po.
He tells ABC13, “I was not even thinking, I just got out like a hero moment.”
Devin says he was just driving home from work when he found himself in the middle of a chase.
He says he watched as the suspect got over a fence and started running down Fairbanks. He says he tried to use his car to try to block the suspect, then got out and began sprinting after him, losing both of his shoes in the process as he went after the suspect, who was also barefoot.
The chase ended when Devin grabbed the suspect and held him until authorities caught up.
Great work.
