Spotify is removing Neil Young’s music from their platform after the aging rocker told the streaming giant that “they can have Rogan or Young. Not both.”
Of course, Spotify was going to pick Rogan, they cut a $100 million plus deal with him last year to be the exclusive site of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast.
Young is upset because he doesn’t like that Rogan’s podcast challenges the authorities on COVID.
The counter-culture folk rocker has become all about the establishment.
Young wrote, “I am doing this because Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines – potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them.”
The company said in a statement, “we regret Neil’s decision to remove his music from Spotify, but hope to welcome him back soon.”
Young wants other record companies and artist to follow him and demand that Spotify pull their music as well, saying in a statement:
"I sincerely hope that other artists and record companies will move off the Spotify platform and stop supporting Spotify's deadly misinformation about COVID."
