Texas Republican Rep. Babin Babin is warning that the Biden administration is trying to “steal” VA benefits from veterans over their refusal to get vaccinated.
In response, Babin along with several other Republicans have co-signed legislation called The Our Veterans Earned It Act (H.R. 5892) to ensure that no service member lose their VA benefits for choosing not to get vaccinated.
Babin says in a released statement:
“I will not stand by and watch while Biden steals from our veterans what they’ve bravely earned. My bill will stop this president’s disgusting and totalitarian overreach in its tracks. Our service members didn’t fight to protect our freedom just to have their own freedom taken away.”
Speaking on Newsmax-TV, Babin said that “our service members didn't fight for our freedom just to have their freedoms taken away."
He also blasted the military for how it has "prioritized military wokeness over military readiness".
Texas Rep. Pete Sessions is a bill co-sponsor and he adds:
“The men and women of our U.S. military, those who protect and defend their fellow countrymen, are being threatened into government submission through an unconstitutional vaccine mandate. The President wants to relabel and punish these honorable service members and strip them of the benefits they've earned. Patriots and I will not tolerate this treatment of our active military and veterans. I support Congressman Babin’s efforts to look after those who’ve selflessly served our great nation.”
