7,000-Plus Illegals Wait For Border Patrol To Pick Them Up In Del Rio, TX

Thousands of illegal immigrants are waiting under the International Bridge in Del Rio, Texas to be apprehended by U.S. border patrol.

Fox News’ Bill Melugin reports that sources tell him there are more than 7,000 illegals there.

Del Rio Democrat Mayor Bruno Lozano says that he’s been told that another 20,000 illegals are in-route to the city.

He says that in the Del Rio sector border patrol already has 2,000 to 3,000 illegal immigrants in detention.

He adds:

“...so what is the border patrol supposed to do...with an influx of potentially 20,000 migrants that are coming into the Del Rio sector.
(Biden) administration I did give you the stark warning back in February that something like this could happen in the Del Rio Area. It’s happening right now in real time. And the Department of Homeland Security needs to more a lot quicker and respond a lot faster to this dire situation here underneath the Del Rio International Bridge”.

According to News4SA, U.S. Customs and Border Protection released a statement in response to the growing chaos in Del Rio:

"The Border Patrol is increasing its manpower in the Del Rio Sector and coordinating efforts within DHS and other relevant federal, state and local partners to immediately address the current level of migrant encounters and to facilitate a safe, humane and orderly process. To prevent injuries from heat-related illness, the shaded area underneath Del Rio International Bridge is serving as a temporary staging site while migrants wait to be taken into USBP custody.
Drinking water, towels, and portable toilets have been delivered for migrants to use while they await to be transported to a facility. The vast majority of single adults and many families will continue to be expelled under the CDC’s Title 42 authority, and those who cannot be expelled under Title 42 and do not have a legal basis to remain will be placed in expedited removal proceedings...”
