Alana McLaughlin won her debut Friday night via submission at the Combate Global prelims in Miami.
McLaughlin was born a biological male and was previously served in the US Army Special Forces.
After leaving the army, McLaughlin began transitioning to a female.
The 38-year-old used a rear-naked choke against Celine Provost to end the match 3 minutes, 32 seconds into the second round.
In all fairness, McLaughlin is not trying to hide her past like Fallon Fox did.
Fox is first transgender woman to fight in MMA except Fox didn’t tell several opponents that she is a biological male.
McLaughlin reportedly had been training MMA for only a year and was by the Florida State Boxing Commission after having hormone levels tested.
Hormones is one thing, but what about bone density for someone who had gone through puberty as a male. What about muscularity.
McLaughlin said it was a “nightmare” finding an opponent.
Gee I wonder why.
