Terrifying moment last night at a Triple-A game between the Durham Bulls and the Norfolk Tides.
Bull pitcher Tyler Zombro was hit in the head by a line drive and he collapsed face-first to the ground, then began convulsing.
Players could be seen kneeling and prayer as personnel began working on Zombro.
The Rays organization announced that Zombro is in stable condition at a local hospital, and will undergo further tests, saying in a statement:
"Tyler Zombro was transported to Duke University Hospital in Durham and is in stable condition. He is currently undergoing further treatment and observation. Additional updates will be provided as they become available. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tyler, his family and his teammates."
After the incident, the Bulls announced that the game had been suspended and will be resumed at a later date.
