Remember in March how the media and the Democrats predicted we were all going to die because Texas was reopening.
The Commandante, Mayor Turner, Beto, the Democrat Party of Texas even Fauci & the CDC warned about the coming doom & gloom in Texas.
Of course, they were wrong.
A study by the National Bureau of Economic Research concluded that reopening Texas had no discernible impact on COVID cases or deaths in Texas.
Bentley University economist Dhaval Dave writes:
"We find no evidence that the Texas reopening led to substantial changes in social mobility, including foot traffic at a wide set of business establishments in Texas..We find no evidence that the Texas reopening affected the rate of new COVID-19 cases during the five weeks following the reopening...
The researchers compared trends in Texas before and after Abbott’s reopening order took effect.
They looked at SafeGraph and COVID date from the NY Times writing, “we find no evidence that the reopening affected the rate of new COVID-19 cases in the five-week period following the reopening. In addition, we find that state-level COVID-19 mortality rates were unaffected by the March 10 reopening."
In addition, the liberal media were freaking out two weeks ago about 73,000 people watching Canelo Alvarez defend his title at AT&T stadium. Well it turns out there was no spike in COVID cases from that event either.
Allahpundit at HotAir.com notes, “not only haven’t cases risen in Texas or Tarrant County, where AT&T Stadium is located, they’re down since May 8 in both jurisdictions. Statewide the seven-day average on that date was 2,507 cases. As of two days ago, the most recent date for which data is available, it was 2,024.
That’s a 19 percent decline. County cases, meanwhile, averaged 169 per day on May 8. As of two days ago, that had dipped to 134…A 21 percent decline.”
