AOC claimed that she was “nearly murdered” on January 6th and that she feared for her life as she was locked in her office as rioters were yelling for her.
Well it turns out that she wasn’t even in the capitol building during the riots as she claimed.
South Carolina Republican Rep. Nancy Mace points out that her office is near AOC’s and that the rioters were never even in the building.
Rep. Mace included screenshots of the news coverage of AOC's story, with Newsweek actually reporting that AOC was forced to take cover in her bathroom as rioters entered her office.
Wanna talk about misinformation.
The truth is their office is located in the Cannon building, which is accessible through underground tunnels connected to the Capitol as well as via a short stroll down a walkway and across the street. It was also one of the buildings where staff was told to evacuate to after suspicious packages were found in the area.
The Czar put it best:
This led to the hashtag #AlexandriaOcasioSmollett to trend on twitter last night.
