FL Gov Blast Media On His COVID-19 Response: “Typical Partisan Narrative"

Liberals and the media are propping up disgruntled, fired state staffer Rebekah Jones, as some sort of hero. The media are pushing the narrative that she was fired for refusing to “censor” state data on COVID-19.

However, it has been revealed that Jones has sexual cyber-harassment and cyberstalking charges pending against her.

A police report from Tallahassee Police shows a man claimed to be a victim of revenge porn by Jones in June 2019. The man told police he had an injunction against Jones for a year until it recently expired. He said Jones posted a website, which included naked pictures of him, and shared it with his place of employment and family members.

DeSantis points out that Jones is not a scientist as media reports claim. She has degrees in journalism, communications, and geography.

He also pointed out that "our data is available, our data is transparent" and that Dr. Deborah Birx of the White House coronavirus task force has spoken "multiple times about how Florida has the absolute best data."

With Vice-President Mike Pence standing next to him, DeSantis tore into the media for their coverage of him and the state.

He said:

“Or data is available, or data is transparent. In fact, Dr. Birx has said multiple times how Florida has the best data. So any insinuation otherwise is just typical partisan narrative trying to be spun. And part of the reason is because you have a lot of people in your profession who waxed poetic for weeks and weeks about how Florida is going to be just like New York.
Wait two weeks, Florida is going to be next. Just like Italy, wait two weeks. Well, hell we're eight weeks away from that and it hasn't happened. Not only do we have a way lower seat rate than the Acela corridor, D.C., and everyone up there. We have a lower death rate than the Midwest... But even in our region, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida has the lower death rate. And I was the number one landing spot for tens of thousands of people leaving the number one hot zone in the world to come to my state. So we've succeeded and I think people just don't want to recognize it because it challenges their narrative, it challenges their assumptions. So they've got to try to find a Boogeyman. Maybe it is that black helicopters are circling the Department of Health. If you believe that, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.”
