Dems In Mass. State Legislature Actually Considering Banning The “B-Word”

This week, the state legislature’s Joint Committee on the Judiciary considered the bill brought by Democrat State Rep. Dan Hunt.

Under Hunt’s proposal “a person who uses the word 'bitch' directed at another person to accost, annoy, degrade or demean the other person shall be considered to be a disorderly person.”

According to media reports, the penalties “provide for a fine of not more than either $150 or $200, or jail time of up to six months.”

So you can a person a ‘bitch’ and that person can go to the police or a third-party witness.

As for a reporting mechanism, either the offended party or a third-party witness can report offenders to the police.

As Reason.com reports "In an interview with the Boston Herald, Hunt has defended his bill by saying that it was introduced at the request of an unidentified constituent and that even if it didn't survive a constitutional challenge, it could still be educational for otherwise apathetic citizens.

"This might also illuminate the exhaustive legislative process for people that might not normally be engaged," Hunt told the Herald."

Even more ridiculous is that State Rep. Hunt is an attorney. Must have ate crayons in that Con Law class.
