Warren did not want to answer the question on whether her “Medicare for All” plan would raise taxes on the middle class.
So when she was asked about it by Jake Tapper, she pivoted back to her previous anecdote about those evil “corporations and billionaires”.
The crowd laughed about it and she scolded them, “this isn’t funny”.
So she filibustered instead of answering the question.
Tapper followed up, asking again “would you raise taxes on the middle class to pay for Medicare for All, offset, obviously, by the elimination of insurance premiums, yes or no?”
She said “costs will go up for billionaires and go up for corporations. For middle-class families, costs -- total costs -- will go down.”That’s a creative way of admitting that, yes she will raise taxes on the middle class.
