3-Time Deported Illegal Tried to Kidnap Teen Girl: Police

On Monday prosecutors in Washington charged a 51-year-old thrice-deported illegal immigrant with luring and second-degree assault for allegedly trying to drag a teenage girl into a truck last week.

Esequiel Medina-Vasquez remains jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail, jail and court records show.

According to the report:

A 14-year-old girl was walking home from school on Wednesday when she saw a pickup drive past her, turn back around, and drive past her again, .

The truck stopping ahead of her. That's when the driver got out of the truck and approached the girl, gesturing for her to come to him. The suspect spoke Spanish to her, which she didn’t understand.

The girl rejected the man's offer to get into his pickup truck and walked past him. That's when the man ran twoards her, threw his arm around her neck and began pulled her toward his truck.

Fortunately the girl broke free and ran home, where she called 911 with her parents.

The victim had a red mark around her neck and her necklace broke during the incident.

A couple who witnessed the interaction followed the suspect's truck to a grocery store. The couple provided police with a photograph of the suspect and his vehicle’s license-plate number.

Federal court records show Medina-Vasquez is a citizen of Mexico. He was deported from Arizona in 2007 and from Washington in 2014. Prosecutors say he was arrested in 2017 for entering the country illegally.
