Christine Quinn, the former speaker of the New York City Council, said in a discussion about the Alabama “heartbeat bill” that “when a woman gets pregnant, that is not a human being inside of her. It is part of her body, and this is about a woman having full agency and control of her body and making decisions about her body and what is part of her body with medical professionals.Those are the facts and that is the law."
Pro-life Republican Rick Santorum asked her “so the baby is their property and they can do whatever they want to it. They can maim the baby or torture the baby."
Quin responded, “this is about a woman’s body. Rick, you're spinning fake stories. You’re so desperate here, you're so desperate here. You're bringing up fake stories. "
Of course, Cuomo backed up Quinn, saying that Santorum was not trying to have a true discussion and was just asking provocative questions.
Cuomo said “All I’m saying is you guys go too far when you pervert the facts. We have a president of the United States saying that a baby is born at the end of full term swaddled in a blanket and then they decide whether or not to execute it. You know that's b.s.”
