(Houston, TX) -- The Harris County District Attorney's Office is looking into the recent suspension of Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner's press secretary. Darian Ward reportedly violated state law by working on her side business on city time and using city resources. She was suspended without pay for ten days last month.
The former lead investigator of the disbanded HPD Public Integrity Review Unit says Ward's case is exactly the sort of thing the unit would have investigated.
Turner defiantly says the matter is closed. District Attorney Kim Ogg says she's waiting to hear back from the city's Office of Inspector General.
