Galveston Fishing Spots Closed Due To Cold

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department says two fishing spots in Galveston County will be closed through Wednesday night because of cold weather.

The area of Galveston Bay from Moses Lake to the tide gate, and all of Offatts Bayou east of Marker 22, will be closed to fishing until 10 p.m. Wednesday.  Officials say the closure is meant to help preserve fish stocks.

Freezing weather can kill game fish in shallow water, and make surviving fish sluggish and easier to capture.
