Constable Pulls Woman From Burning Apartment

A northwest Harris County woman is safe after a constable pulled her out of her burning apartment on New Year's Day.  Three Precinct 4 deputy constables got to the complex on Ella near Clear Valley before the fire department.

Deputy Constable Dexter Flores went up to the second-story apartment, but the fire was so intense he couldn't get the woman out the front door.  Flores dropped the woman off the balcony to the two other deputies, who caught her.

The Harris County Fire Marshal is trying to determine the cause of the fire, which destroyed 16 units.
