Census: Texas Population Growth Fastest In The U.S.

New U.S. Census Bureau figures show Texas added more people than any other state in the past year.  Continuing the trend that the South and West lead the nation in population growth, the Lone Star State grew by almost 400-thousand people.  

With 28-million residents, Texas remains the nation's second most populous state, after California.  Wednesday's report was a state-by-state breakdown that didn't focus on individual cities such as Houston.
