On Saturday, PRESIDENT TRUMP Tweeted, quote, "Very important that NFL players STAND tomorrow, and always, for the playing of our National Anthem. Respect our Flag and our Country!"
But it didn't stop the kneeling.
There probably wasn't as much as there was last week, though. Some teams took a cue from the Dallas Cowboys and knelt BEFORE the anthem, but stood for the song. And a lot of teams stood together with their arms locked.
But there were still players around the league who took a knee during the anthem, including about 30 members of COLIN KAEPERNICK's old team, the San Francisco 49ers.
MARSHAWN LYNCH of the Oakland Raiders made a pretty bold statement when he showed up at the stadium with a t-shirtthat said, "Everybody vs. Trump". He sat for the anthem, as he always does. But yesterday, staff members stood in front of him, as if they were trying to HIDE him. It didn't work.
After a rushing touchdown against the Patriots, Panthers quarterback CAM NEWTON raised a fist in the end zone. Players on various teams did that during the anthem, too.
