One of the pillars of the Democrat platform, and maybe the only one relating remotely to policy, is their "Medicare-For-All" shtick they continue parading. Essentially, their platform is they want everyone to have free healthcare because "it is about being, like, just a decent human being." Ask any Democrat their argument for free healthcare, that is the response you will get.

Should people have access to healthcare? Absolutely. Should the taxpayer be footing the bill for someone to get diabetes treatment, because they decided to eat ridiculous foods their entire life? Absolutely never. Yet this is the Democrat stance on the issue. Amid all the lambasting about being a good person and "having empathy," though, they leave out a crucial detail of their plan.

That is who will pay for it. Another major Democrat platform is "taxing the rich," even though the top 50 percent of earners already pay 96 percent of the federal income tax revenue. They have no ideas for how to afford it, and rely on gullible Americans lacking critical thinking skills, and just buying into the idea of "getting free stuff."

But in life, nothing is free. Author of The Newsletter, On Wealth and Progress, and the book "2008: What Really Happened" Todd Sheets says their plan fails to mention the inflation that will be passed on to you.

"The best estimates I have seen say it would be a $3 trillion to $4 trillion increase in government spending," he says.

Again, the Democrats somewhat loose idea, if you want to call it that, for affording universal healthcare is just taxing the rich. The top one percent of wealth already pays close to 40 percent of the federal income tax revenue. The top 10 percent pay 70 percent of the bill. As mentioned, the top 50 percent overall account for 96 percent. That means the bottom half of earners pay just 3 percent of the tax bill.

So, the idea that taxing the rich would get us anywhere close to the number needed for the program is laughable. If they got their way too, it would create economic disaster.

"If you took all the earnings away from the billionaire class...you still would not have enough money to pay for it," says Sheets. "Even if you go down to levels in the $170,000 range, you will have to increase taxes on everyone above that by 30 to 40 percent."

Democrats though do not care about government spending or economic disaster. That much has been made clear, especially post-COVID. All federal departments got cozy with COVID era budgets and refuse to now scale back. The deficit keeps growing, and the Democrats idea to solving that seems to be spending more. Without ever acknowledging their recklessness is how we got here in the first place.

"This is kind of like walking into the doctor and asking him to solve your problem without telling him the medical history that led to that problem," Sheets says.

Yet gullible Americans continue buying the idea under the guise of getting "free stuff." Again, nothing in life is free. If Democrats gain a shred of power, we will be in to learn that lesson the hardest of ways.
