The bias of the mainstream media has been very apparent in the last ten years or so, with numerous studies showing liberal stories being pushed much more often than conservative leaning ones. MSNBC has been caught doing it, CNN, and even the main three broadcast networks all have been caught pushing narrative over reality. It has even led to some networks cleaning house in their management office.

That has especially been the case with the CBS, which has cleaned house recently. More specifically though, the program 60 Minutes is the one in hot water now. For years, the program has been there to quench the thirst of hard news enjoyers. But a new study has found that in the last six seasons of the show, 60 Minutes has aired five times more liberal leaning stories than conservative stories.

The NewsBusters analysts found a total of 78 liberal stories compared to just 16 conservative leaning stories. Bill D'Agostino of the Media Research Center says there is even more concerning data in that cluster.

"There were 17 specifically, politically related stories that were almost exclusively anti-Trump...that is an insane amount," he says.

For a licensed broadcast network to attack a President like that multiple times is almost unheard of and should be angering to the taxpayer. They have been footing the bill for these narrative pushes for years, while 60 Minutes does what every they want.

"They have been like a little shadow government...they were their own little island within CBS," says D'Agostino. "They thought they were not subject to the editorial standards of the rest of the network because they are 60 Minutes and they are the beacon of broadcast television...you are not, you are subject to the same standard."

They ran these anti-Trump stories though while running fluff pieces about President Biden. As most of the mainstream media did, essentially using Biden as a puppet to push their own propaganda.

But, as mentioned, CBS has started cleaning out some of the mess that has built over the last ten years. Bari Weiss has taken over the network and fired top on-air talent. The network is doing what it can to bring itself back to respectable journalism. But while better might be a good thing, it does not mean much.

"They are better than the other two broadcast networks...but how impressive is it to be like...the strongest of three kindergarteners, you know?" D'Agostino says.

The newest season of 60 Minutes debuted on Sunday.
