War for the Planet of the Apes (PG-13) SF -- Woody Harrelson leads an army of humans against the rising tide of simian domination. Again, the CGI effects and Andy Serkis' motion-capture Caesar are front and center.
The Big Sick (R) comic drama -- Pakistani-American comedian Kumail Nanjani and Zoe Kravitz fall for each other and have a bumpy relationship until a serious health problem changes everything. Terrible title for one of the year's best sleepers.
Wish Upon (PG-13) Horror -- teenaged Joey King gets a music box that grants her wishes at a price. Combination of The Monkey's Paw and Final Destination.
