A Dog’s Purpose (PG) Drama – The adaptation of W. Bruce Cameron’s novel has been overshadowed by the release of a troubling and carefully edited video of a stunt dog’s apparent mistreatment by a second unit crew. In the end, though, this one does what you want a good family/dog movie to do.
Gold (R) Drama – Matthew McConaughey stars as Kenny Wells who found a fortune in Indonesia but had trouble holding onto it. An Oscar hopeful that didn’t catch on with Academy voters.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (R) Horror action – Milla Jojovich stars in the seventh installment of what is arguably the most successful series based on a video game. Also in 3D and IMAX 3D.
