There used to be a time when we referred to this country as 'America the beautiful'. It's because, as writer AOF wrote about on American Thinker, we have become 'America the soft'.
"I wrote the article out of frustration, because what I see today, just in public in general, is really opposite of the way I was raised, and how I raise my kids" said AOF.
As a Gen X-er, AOF recalls a time when there were no curfews and no helmets, but you still had consequences for your actions. Now, playing outside with your friends until dark, has been replaced by cellphones and video games.
"We don't know how to be independent" said relationship trainer Julie Nise, "We have not taught the value of self reliance, we want the government to do everything, the government has become a super-nanny, and it's just standing in line to get more of this or more of that, for free or without working or without trying."
They call it a 'Never ending daycare' way of life.
