POLL QUESTION: The midterm polls

With early voting already underway, and less than two weeks to go until the key midterms, it's a good time for a Rush Limbaugh reminder. It is now safe for you to pay attention to the polls.

"I think we need a reminder period, not just a Rush reminder", said political commentator Silvio Canto Jr., "We need to understand what all these polls are saying. My late father use to say that we have more polls than gas stations, and I think that's true. There's just too many polls out there, and they're very confusing."

Thankfully, Rush was never confused. He knew, that you should not look at the polls until you get down to the final month before an election. The polling before then, is basically used to try and shape the narrative and nudge voters. But when it gets down to crunch-time, and people are starting to think about voting, the polls need to maintain (or at least try to keep) their credibility.

"Rush also made a point that when you're looking at polls, remember that the polling organizations are businesses" Canto Jr. told KTRH, "If they do a poll and they turn out to be wrong, they're not going to get business in the future. So, as they get closer to election day, they want to be closer to the truth the last 30 days."

He also noted that Republicans have been leery to participate in any polls, due to the constant attacks on conservatives.

We will all find out the truth on November 8th.

That leads us to the poll question this morning.
