POLL QUESTION: Will Republicans win the Senate?

Democrats are confident they will keep control of the U.S. Senate come November.

Both Republicans and Democrats will agree that when the upper chamber is a 50-50 split, every candidate and battleground state matters. However, the Dems say there are three reasons why they'll at least hang on to their 50, if not add more seats.

One reason is money. Fundraising in the second quarter was a haul for some Democratic candidates. The second reason is their claim of being able to unite their base when it matters. Matt Angle is the Director of the Lone Star Project, a Texas-based organization aimed at defeating Republicans.

“In order to be in the majority, you have to tolerate and be willing to help elect moderates,” Angle said. “The Democratic Party is still a coalition. We go from Bernie Sanders to Joe Manchin.”

The third reason Democrats are confident: They believe the U.S. Supreme Court's overturning Roe v Wade will motivate voters who feel strongly about the abortion issue to turn out in large numbers in November.
