Two men in Virginia Beach, VA have been arrested, accused of hacking into gas pumps and selling the fuel for a discounted rate. According to WAVY TV 10, the suspects allegedly used devices to illegally access a gas station's pumps over several nights while the business was closed. They then sold the gas at a discounted rate through a phone app, advertising the sale on social media.
The investigation is still ongoing. Other gas stations in the area are being urged to check their security cameras to make sure they weren't victims of the same crime. Police haven't confirmed an exact amount of gas that was stole, but are referring to it as "thousands of dollars."
