POLL QUESTION: Should Longoria have been allowed to run today's vote?

Harris County voters go to the polls Tuesday to decide primary runoff elections, but not without some hesitancy.

Local GOP Chair Cindy Siegel says the outgoing elections administrator wants to use "deputies" to pick up ballots and take them to the central counting center, which she calls illegal.

"The presiding judge is the one who is responsible," she says. "He or she can have their alternate judge or an election clerk do it, but it's up to them to get the ballot bags to central count."

This follows lengthy delays after the March primary, and even the much smaller special election earlier this month.

"Tarrant County had some ballots on March 1, I think two pages, they didn't have those issues," says Siegel. "So the big question is why does Harris County? I think it lies with the election administrator."

Siegel urges anyone experiencing a problem at the polls to contact the county elections office and/or the local Republican Party.

"First call the elections administrator's office. They're the ones that both parties have contract to run those elections," she says.

"If their election judge at their poll can't help, they need to call Harris County Republican Party."

That leads us to the poll question this morning.
