Elon Musk finally succeeded in his bid to buy Twitter, but that may have been the easy part. There are still governmental and regulatory hurdles to clear before Musk can officially take over the company, including reviews by the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission. Beyond that, the left is going to pull out all the stops to block or at least delay Musk's Twitter takeover, which has some conservatives warning not to celebrate too early. Already, the DOJ has announced investigations into Musk's other companies, and the Biden administration has announced a bizarre 'Disinformation Governance Board' in the Department of Homeland Security, which could be a backdoor way to regulate Twitter.
Luke Macias, Texas-based conservative commentator, says all of this should come as no surprise. "The Democrats are really serious about stopping Musk," he tells KTRH. "They'll use whatever they need to use to tyrannize citizens and keep free speech from absolutely being expressed in the public arena."
"If they can utilize publicly traded corporations to restrict free speech, they will do that," he continues. "If somebody like Elon Musk steps in and tries to stop that, then they will use the power of the state."
The good news for Musk is all of these efforts will ultimately backfire, according to Macias. "Any attempts (to undermine Musk) by Joe Biden's DOJ, or the Democrat-controlled House and Senate, I think is only going to move more Americans to our side, to the side of free speech," he says.
"I think Musk's move sets the left up to where they either need to let it happen, or get in the way and lose more support."
That leads us to the poll question this morning.
