Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo is sticking with her three top staffers facing felony charges over an $11 million COVID outreach contract.
But new poll numbers show she's losing favorability in her bid for re-election.
Rice University's Mark Jones still thinks Hidalgo has the upper hand in November, but according to the Texas Hispanic Policy Foundation, she's quickly falling out of favor with voters.
"Between October and March, that's a five-month period, she went from plus 13 to minus 2, which is a negative 15 shift," he says.
"That's taken an election in 2022 that was likely to be a pretty easy victory for Hidalgo and made it a competitive race."
That brings us to our poll question this morning.
