POLL QUESTIONS: Planes and masks

COVID-19 numbers are dropping. The CDC is loosening its recommendations. However, you still have to wear a face mask if you're going to fly.

The government's mask mandate on airplanes is supposed to expire on March 18th. However, President Biden will likely extend the mandate again for at least 30 to 60 days. This after the country's largest flight attendant union said they want the government to keep the mask mandate in place. Aviation analyst Jay Ratliff says that surprised him.

“Flight attendants I’ve talked to have say ‘Jay, I hate going to work. It’s stressful. It’s harder than it’s ever been because I’m being required to be a mask police. It’s not my policy. It’s not the airline’s policy. It’s a president executive order that requires everyone to wear a mask over their nose and mouth, and anytime somebody fails to do so, I’m forced to make sure that’s implemented,’” Ratliff explained.

Airplanes and airports became hotbeds of conflict in 2021, all stemming from passengers' fierce opposition to mask mandates. As COVID-19 numbers drop nationwide, more cities and states are lifting their face mask policies.

That leads to the poll question today.
