As the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues, some experts are warning that we have seen this movie before, and that Putin is stealing a page out of the Germany World War II playbook.
"We should always be concerned when there is armed conflict" said David Hamilton, Founder and CEO of America's Future Series, " We don't want some sort of domino effect like World War 1, and then World War II. We'd have to worry about that."
If you remember, World War II started out small, and escalated with lies and broken promises.
"I think Putin has two goals" Hamilton told KTRH, "One is a security need, and the other is the desire to 'make Russia great again' if you want to call it that."
All of this is yet another consequence of the 2020 election. With America now at the weakest it's ever been, Putin and soon China, are ready to pounce. The bottom line is, none of this would be happening if Donald Trump was still in office.
"America seems to be very self absorbed, we're very fractured internally" Hamilton said, "I think the Nord Stream 2 negotiation emboldened him to produce more oil and gas, and sell it to the Europeans which he knew would make them more dependent on him. Certainly we did not display strength in Afghanistan."
