Dr. Francis Collins, who has announced plans to retire as director of the National Institutes of Health, has again picked up his guitar on social media to play his "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" parody titled "Somewhere Past the Pandemic."
"Somewhere past the pandemic, when we're free, there's a life I remember, full of activity," Collins sings. "Somewhere past the pandemic, no quarantine, we'll all stay well and healthy, thanks to a safe vaccine."
This isn't the first time Collins has performed his musical tribute to the vaccine. He offered a similar rendition in November on the official American Academy of Arts & Sciences' YouTube channel.
The 71-year-old physician and geneticist, who has led the research center for a record 12 years, announced his resignation Tuesday, saying he will step away from the post by the end of the year.
