Disney World guest arrested after refusing temperature check

Kelly Sills, 47, of Baton Rouge was arrested after refusing to have his temperature checked at a Walt Disney World restaurant in Orlando.

Sills rejected the screening at the Boathouse restaurant and began arguing with the staff, claiming he spent $15,000 to be there. A security manager told Sills he was "no longer welcome at the park" and called police.

Sills continued to argue with officers from the Orange County Sheriff's Department, so he was eventually arrested.

As deputies escorted him away, Sills had a change of heart and said he was willing to have his temperature checked after all.

“They’ll do that at the jail, sir,” a deputy responded.

A Disney spokesperson said all guests must follow park rules that include mask requirements, social distancing and temperature screenings.

Sills pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor trespassing charges, according to court records. He's due in court today.
