Phyllis Pena helped Lake Jackson police capture a man accused of peeking into her 15-year-old daughter's bedroom last month.
In just-released police dashcam video, Pena is seen tackling Zane Hawkins, 19, as he attempts to get away from cops.
Pena says she returned home from shopping around 7 a.m., Jan. 31, to find a man in her yard, peeking through a window. Her daughter was not in the room at the time, she said.
Pena called police as the suspect ran off. Officers soon found Hawkins nearby but he tried to get away, unwittingly running towards Pena who intercepted and tackled him.
Her daughter helped hold Hawkins down the suspect until officers caught up.
According to polixce, Hawkins faces multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest and resisting arrest.
