SimpliSafe social-distancing sweater is a hit, but not real

A holiday sweater created for commercials by the home security company SimpliSafe features an alarm system that goes off with flashing lights and a screeching noise if a person gets with six feet of the wearer.

It's not actually being sold to the public, but the company has given away a limited number of them without the lights and alarm in exchange for donations to the NeighborWorks America Rental Resilience Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people economically impacted by COVID-19 pay their rent.

Meanwhile, the company has published instructions https://www.promosis.com/simplisafe/ on installing an alarm system into a sweater of your own, complete with LED lights, a speaker, a battery pack, safe wiring and more.
