What's Next For The GOP?

With the electoral college officially casting their ballots for Joe Biden, the question now is? What's next for the GOP? President Trump has vowed to continue his election fight until the end. But in the meantime, the fact that 1/3 of House Republicans did not stand with Trump on the Texas lawsuit, has fueled speculation about the future of the GOP. Longtime political analyst Chris Begala told KTRH he believes that number is higher. "I think there's probably 80% of the GOP that is happy that Donald Trump is gone! The polarization and the hatred of this man is a sickness." Begala said. "Where does the Republican Party go from here? Nowhere! There is no Republican Party right now. Will it be reinvented? I don't think it's going to happen in the next 2 to 4 years." That's because Begala believes that Trump has basically become the GOP. Begala also brought up this sobering point: after what just went down with the election, do we really expect Trump to somehow beat Biden/Harris in 2024? We shall see.
