So how are you holding up? Happy for the holidays? Depressed, wondering about 2021? The New Year can't get hear soon enough with everything we've endured here in 2020, a new study shows that the 'American Psyche' has reached a record low, but not so for Churchgoers who are doing much better. Jonathon Saenz, President of Texas Values told KTRH "People in Texas are hurting. The study also confirms that churches are essential." American mental health ratings have reached their lowest points in 20 years, but Saenz says churches are quietly making a huge difference, which is why they have had to fight to keep them open. "It means something and it can be very helpful, and that's a message that we're going to take to the Texas legislature to make sure it's clear in state law that when we go through these pandemics, or other attempted government shutdowns, that the churches are not going to be the ones that are the victims." Unfortunately, the people have been the victims, but the church is there to help. "Not only is the church a place for people of faith to find hope, they also provide a lot of great resources like clothing, food, and shelter." It's about helping and loving others, not religion.
