With the Covid vaccine set to hit the U.S. as early as next week, a new study shows that the number of people intending on getting the vaccine is up to 60%. Dr. Peter Jay Hotez from the Baylor College of Medicine here in Houston told KTRH "I think you're seeing people get excited", and yet 2 in 10 that were polled say they will not get the vaccine, regardless of the information that might be available. Hotez says he is willing to take it, because it's been approved by the FDA. And as for how it will play out? Dr. Hotez believes the vaccine will keep people out of the hospitals. As far as the spread of the virus? Dr. Hotez says we will need around 70 to 80% of the population to take the vaccine for it to become effective.
