The NYPD’s enforcement of social distancing over the weekend included a tense confrontation that ended with three arrests, an officer sidelined, an internal probe, and a viral video.
Cops were breaking up a group that allegedly refused to move along and resisted cops’ efforts to cuff them, according to police.
A small crowd of onlookers gathered a few feet away during the confrontation. one had their phone out recording the whole thing.
In the middle of the fracas, one officer, identified by reports as Officer Francisco Garcia, approached one of the bystanders.
