Fryer Feature: San Jacinto

Texas history on its ear, or at least the observance of it.

It’s San Jacinto Day, when we celebrate the battle that won Texas Independence and the beginning of the 9 year life of the Republic of Texas. But there will be no celebrations, as we are under shut down guidelines, though the Governor has reopened state parks for social distancing and face mask wearing groups of no more than five people. Well at least the school kids can celebrate, through their online classes.

Texas Independence on the day oil futures went deeply negative.Talk about setting history on its ear. Producers looking at having to pay someone to take the oil glut off their hands? That glut, by the way, thanks to Texas producers who refused to believe those doomsday prophets of peak oil, uh, actually running out of so-called fossil fuel? Nope.We certainly proved that wrong. It’s that type of Texas defiance and ability we can count on now, especially on San Jacinto Day.
