The name of the company is Wood, but wind is their business.
The global engineering and consulting company,Houston-based Wood has engineered a windfall; a combined set of contracts totaling about 100 million dollars for onshore wind farm developments across the United States. The new set of projects range from the Pacific northwest, into the mountain states and into the Midwest.
Not surprising. While oil is king in Texas, this Lone Star state is also the leader in wind energy, and we’ve long had a booming business for engineers.
Wood operates in more than 60 countries, employs over 55,000 people, with revenues of around 10 billion dollars.
Another reason to be Houston proud.
