The gun debate; gun rights, gun activists vs. gun grabbers; all revolving around “gun violence.” It’s not really a debate because the word, even the image gun has been turned into an emotional “trigger," if I dare use that word.
In the media, it began, maybe, as a shorthand way of announcing the topic. But violent acts of criminals and the disturbed, using guns as weapons against the innocent or against law enforcement, have changed the dialog. What we should be discussing is self protection. Do you relinquish your right to life and self protection to the tyrants who say they are disarming you for your protection? It isn’t a debate about guns.It’s a foundational principle about your right to life and liberty and how you are able to defend them.
