It was a weekend of Triumphs in many ways, foremost, being able to put politics to sleep. How many of you bothered to watch the Democrats spewing socialist pablum in their so-called debate or the Hollywood folk who repeated the Karl Marx Communist manifesto in their so-called awards show?
Instead, I joined my Hallettsville friends supporting a school friend at the funeral of her husband. I visited friends in Shiner and went to an estate sale of another friend whose mother and father lived long and fruitful lives, and oh did they collect stuff.
I chatted with a lot of new found friends and old ones too as we waited in line for Kolacny BBQ; that was Sunday lunch after Saturday night at a fundraiser for St Rose of Lima School Schulenburg; 12th annual, with the featured band The Triumphs. Oh yeah, of BJ Thomas fame. Love those guys
