U-H will pay tribute to Altobelli family after Kobe Bryant chopper crash

The University of Houston Baseball team has announced it will remember John, Keri and Alyssa Altobelli throughout the 2020 season. They were all victims on the helicopter crash that killed NBA legend Kobe Bryant.

The Cougars will pay tribute to the family by wearing a decal with each of their initials on their batting helmets.

In addition, Houston will hold a moment of silence prior to Sunday's Fan Appreciation/Baseball Alumni Day as well as 14 seconds of silence on Opening Day (Feb. 14) against Youngstown State.

Wearing No. 14, Altobelli was a two-year letter winner for the Cougars from 1984 to 1985 and served as an assistant coach in 1987.

Check out the decal below, and read more about the coach they called 'Alto' HERE.
